Sean Denny, SCA volunteer and keen runner will be taking part in the Bristol half marathon in 2015.
Sean is looking forward to running his first half-marathon and said: “Running this race will be a big challenge for me, as for the past 5-6 years I have not been able to run because of severe shin splits. I had actually given up on my dream of running a marathon”. Not a man to be beaten, Sean has managed to overcome this set-back and is finally able to run again.
Saigas can travel over 600 miles (1000km) during a single migration, reaching top speeds of 50mph (80km). While we doubt Sean will reach these speeds he feels that this is a particularly apt undertaking: “The saiga antelope is one of the world’s fastest animals, so I thought I could try to help keep the saiga alive and running while I chase after my own dreams” said Sean.

Training is now well under-way and we will be following his progress on our Facebook pages, so be sure to check in on his updates.
Thanks, and good luck Sean!
