“Resurrection: sea, saigas, steppe”

This was the motto of the Saiga Day -2021 festive events in Uzbekistan.

The organizers and participants of the events wanted to emphasize their commitment to the common goal of the restoration of the steppes and the return of saigas. We are all familiar with the loss of the Aral Sea. This had a very bad effect on the entire nature of Karakalpakia. The sea can no longer be returned, but it is possible to preserve what exists now and to restrain the onset of sands on cities and towns. Therefore, the Steppe Clubs of Karakalpakstan are actively involved in the event to revive the “green” sea using steppe vegetation, which is planted on the dried bottom of the Aral Sea.

As usual, according to the established tradition, the Saiga Day in 2021 came to schools in the first days of May. The sun was heating, but this did not bother schoolchildren and teachers. All at the same time, festive events began in five schools. The organizing team was divided into two groups in order to have time to visit all spots and support the Steppe Clubs.

Muynak. The city is located in close proximity to the drying Aral Sea and the Aralkum desert, in the very center of the Aral ecological disaster

On May 5, in the city of Muynak, we were hospitably met by the Steppe Club on the basis of school No. 1. In the format of the “Ecological Express”, competitions of four teams of high school students were held. At the “Erudite station”, participants were asked complicated questions about the saiga. At the “Creative Station”, the teams should prepare a poster in support of the saiga. The “Sports” station invites teams to try themselves in the role of saigas during migration. There are many obstacles on the way for the participants. According to the plot of the game, wolfs, hunters, diseases, highways and railways, deep ditches and trenches become obstacles. The winner was the team in which there are more “saiga” children left after overcoming obstacles. “Steppe station” offered the exercise “Food chains”. Children were given cards of representatives of the wall of the Steppe ecosystem. On command, each participant must quickly navigate and find their “prey” or “food”.Great gerbil, jerboa, eastern boa, eared hedgehog, steppe agama, saiga, gazelle, wolf, owl, steppe eagle. Everyone should quickly figure out what is whose “food” and put a hand on the shoulder of another participant. It turns out a very interesting picture that often some resources are not enough. And there is a queue for them. We draw conclusions. The points for the team depend on the correctness of the conclusions and the correct completion of the task. Summing up the results of the “Ecological Express” – each team has shown itself in different ways. Someone is more creative, and someone is more mobile and erudite.

On May 6, organizers and guests go to school No 2. We were here for the first time, this is a new recently organizes Steppe club. The leaders of the club also took part in the kick-off seminar in Nukus. And we were curious, how the teachers’ creativity will manifest itself, how the children will react. Will they be happy and interested?

The festival exceeded our expectations. An exhibition of models and drawings was organized at the entrance to the school. A whole exhibition gallery of drawings depicting saigas and their neighbors in the steppe. The crafts were made of various materials and techniques –  embroidery, plasticine, shells and sand from the day of the Aral Sea.

The relay race was very interestingly organized in the sports hall. Two teams were competing. All contests were thematic, and the main character was saiga, of course.

The next phase of the festival was the performance of the ecological theater. The audience was full. The play began with: “My grandfather hunted saigas all his life. But the grandson does not want to continue this tradition. He is an active participant in all environmental activities of the school Steppe Club. The grandfather once again violates the environmental regime. Punishment in the form of imprisonment follows. Meanwhile, the grandson continues his studies and studies to be a zoologist. He returns to his village and works in the reserve; he connects his life with the protection of his native nature. ” It would seem that this is such an unpretentious scenario, but all the accents and priorities are very precisely set in it. During the performance, folk music, folklore, and traditions of the Karakalpak people are also organically “interwoven”. День сайгака 2021 в Узбекистане

«Возрождение: море, сайгаки, степь».

Под таким девизом прошли праздничные мероприятия в День сайгака -2021.

Организаторы и участники мероприятий хотели подчеркнуть свою приверженность общему делу по возрождению степей и возвращению сайгаков. Нам всем хорошо знакома ситуация с утратой Аральского моря. Это очень плохо отразилось на всей природе Каракалпакии. Море уже не вернуть, но можно сохранить то, что есть сейчас и сдержать наступление песков на города и посёлки. Поэтому Степные клубы Каракалпакии активно подключаются к мероприятию по возрождению «зелёного» моря из степной растительности, которая высаживается на высохшем дне Арала.

Как обычно, по сложившейся традиции, праздник «День сайгака» в 2021 году пришёл в школы в первые майские дни.  Солнце палило не по-весеннему. Но это не стало помехой для школьников и учителей. Одновременно сразу в пяти школах начинаются праздничные мероприятия. Команда организаторов делится на две группы, чтобы успеть побывать везде и поддержать Степные клубы.

Муйнак. Город расположен в непосредственной близости с высыхающим Аральским морем и пустыней Аралкум, в самом центре Аральской экологической катастрофы.

5 мая в городе Муйнаке нас гостеприимно принимает Степной клуб на базе школы № 1. В формате «Экологического экспресса» проходят соревнования четырёх команд старшеклассников. На станции «Эрудитов» участникам задаются не простые вопросы о сайгаке. На Станция «Творческой» станции команды должны подготовить плакат в защиту сайгака. «Спортивная» станция предлагает командам попробовать себя в роли сайгаков на миграции. На пути участников ожидает много препятствий. По сюжету игры преградой становиться волк, охотники, болезни, автомобильные магистрали и железная дорога, глубокие канавы и траншеи. Побеждает команда, в которой осталось больше ребят-сайгачат после преодоления препятствий. «Степная» станция – на ней предлагается упражнение «Пищевые цепи». Ребятам раздаются карточки представителей степной экосистемы.  По команде каждый участник должен быстро сориентироваться и найти свою «добычу» или «корм». Баялыч, биюргун, большая песчанка, тушканчик, восточный удавчик, ушастый ёж, степная агама, сайгак, джейран, волк, филин, степной орёл. Каждый должен быстро сообразить, что чья «еда» и положить руку на плечо. Получается очень интересная картина, что зачастую некоторых ресурсов не хватает. И на них выстраивается очередь. Делаем выводы. От правильности выводов и верного выполненного задания зависят баллы для команды.  Подводим итоги «Экологическому экспрессу» – каждая команда   проявила себя по-разному. Кто-то более творческий, а кто-то более подвижный и эрудированный.

6 мая. Муйнак. Организаторы и гости направляются в школу №2.  Здесь мы впервые, это новый клуб, недавно организованный.  Руководители клуба так же были участниками стартового семинара в Нукусе. И мы в ожидании, как проявится творчество учителей, как отреагируют дети. Будут ли рады и заинтересованы?

Праздник превзошёл наши ожидания.  На входе в школу организована выставка макетов и рисунков. Целая выставочная галерея из рисунков с изображением сайгаков и его соседей по степи. Работы выполнены из различных материалов и техники – здесь и вышивка, пластилин, ракушки и песок со дня Аральского моря.

В спортивном зале очень интересно организована эстафета. Соревнуется две команды. Все конкурсы тематические и главный персонаж – сайгак.

Следующий этап праздника – выступление экологического театра. Зал со зрителями полный. Начинается спектакль: «дедушка всю жизнь охотился на сайгаков. Но внук не желает продолжать эту традицию. Он активный участник всех экологических мероприятий школьного Степного клуба. Дедушка в очередной раз нарушает природоохранный режим. Следует наказание в виде лишения свободы. Тем временем внук продолжает свою учёбу и учится на зоолога. Возвращается в свой посёлок и работает в заповеднике, свою жизнь он связывает с защитой родной природы». Казалось бы, вот такой незатейливый сценарий, но в нём очень точно расставлены все акценты и приоритеты. Во время спектакля так же органично «вплетается» народная музыка, фольклор и традиции Каракалпакского народа.
