When did you first find out about saigas?

First time I found out about saigas was during working in BCC (Biodiversity Conservation Center — Russian NGO), it was about 2009 year.

What are your hopes for the future of saigas?

My hopes are they will not vanish as lots of species did. I hope that the present level of society development, global society, not within certain countries, will make it possible to preserve these unique animals.

Can you tell me an interesting fact you like about saigas?

It’s not really an interesting fact but the thing I like most in saigas is their unusual nose which makes their appearance recognizable, unique, very cute and a little sad.

what do you think will be the most interesting part of your job with the SCA?/what are you most looking forward to?

Definitely, the most interesting part of my job will be a possibility to see saigas in nature. I’m really looking forward to it — I’ve never seen them and it will be a great experience. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people, visiting new places and having possibility do at least something to support saigas conservation.
