Artesian Wells Assessment - A. Muzbay

Young Conservation Leaders Project Research & Monitoring Kazakhstan 2019 ← Back to archive

Aibat Muzbay assessed existing active and inactive artesian wells and the need for new water points in Kazakhstan. The project examined water availability in saiga habitat and considered where functioning wells could contribute to wildlife needs across dry steppe landscapes.

The assessment produced a clearer picture of the condition and distribution of water infrastructure relevant to saigas, providing evidence that could inform later decisions about restoring or creating water points.
