Conserving Ustyurt Saigas Under Emerging Threats - E. Marsden
Emma Marsden examined the conservation of the migratory Ustyurt saiga population in Uzbekistan in the face of emerging threats and limited data. The research considered how conservation decisions can be made when pressures are changing rapidly and the evidence available to managers is incomplete.
The study brought together information relevant to the Ustyurt population and explored practical conservation options under uncertainty. It helped strengthen the basis for responding to new threats while highlighting the importance of flexible monitoring and management in a rapidly changing landscape.
