High-Resolution Satellite Monitoring of Saigas - A. Yachmennikova

Small Grants Project Research & Monitoring Russia 2015 ← Back to archive

Anna Yachmennikova continued the use of high-resolution satellite imagery to monitor saiga populations in Russia. The project built on earlier work exploring whether remote imagery could help locate and assess groups of saigas across very large areas of steppe.

The project further developed and applied a non-intrusive monitoring approach, adding information on saiga distribution across large areas of steppe.
