Illegal Trade and Consumption of Pre-Caspian Saigas - F. Hogg
Forrest Hogg investigated the prevalence and nature of illegal trade and consumption affecting the pre-Caspian saiga population in Russia. The study examined how saiga products were obtained, used, and exchanged, helping to build a clearer picture of pressures that were difficult to observe through ecological monitoring alone.
The research added evidence on an important human-driven threat to the pre-Caspian population and helped clarify the forms that illegal use and trade could take. This strengthened the information available for future enforcement, engagement, and conservation planning.link text
