Monitoring the Aral Sea Saiga Population - A. Nuridjanov
Artur Nuridjanov supported monitoring and conservation of a small resident saiga population discovered in the Aral Sea region of Uzbekistan. The project focused attention on a little-known group of saigas in a rapidly changing landscape and helped document their presence and conservation needs.
The research improved knowledge of this previously poorly documented population and provided a stronger evidence base for continued attention to the area.
