Saiga Feeding Behaviour - T. Karimova

Small Grants Project Research & Monitoring Russia 2008 ← Back to archive

Tatiana Karimova investigated saiga feeding behaviour in Russia using a non-invasive approach based on the composition of faecal samples. The project aimed to build a clearer picture of what saigas were eating without the need to capture or disturb the animals.

The research generated new ecological information on saiga diet using a low-disturbance method and added to the evidence available to researchers and conservationists.
