Project
Saiga Grazing and Biomass in Ural Calving Areas - A. Muzbay
Aibat Muzbay assessed the effect of saiga use on biomass production in calving areas of the Ural steppe in Kazakhstan. The project examined how large concentrations of saigas interact with vegetation during a particularly important period of the annual cycle.
The research generated new field evidence on saiga grazing and vegetation in calving areas, adding information relevant to discussions about herbivory, habitat condition, and coexistence with other land uses.
