Saiga Horizon Scan - J. Hass

Student Research Project International Cooperation & Policy · Research & Monitoring International 2026 ← Back to archive

Jessica Hass carried out a horizon scan to identify emerging threats that could affect saiga conservation in the coming years. The research brought together evidence and perspectives on new and developing pressures, looking beyond well-established threats to consider issues that may become increasingly important across the saiga range.

The study provides a structured way to anticipate future conservation challenges and helps widen the evidence base used for strategic planning. By identifying issues before they become acute, the work can support earlier discussion, research, and preparedness across the saiga conservation community.
