The Saiga Trail - G. Inzhieva
Gerel Davaevna Inzhieva created “The Saiga Trail”, an educational game for pre-school children in Russia. Working with saiga specialists and SCA members, the project used a steppe ecosystem centred on saigas to help children explore habitat, relationships between species, threats to saigas, and the ways people can help conserve them.
The project created a hands-on educational resource designed specifically for very young children, with pieces made using traditional Kalmyk craft techniques such as felt, clay, and coloured sand. Its format also offered potential for adaptation in other educational settings.
