Volunteering for Ural Saiga Conservation - K. Mabbutt

Student Research Project Research & Monitoring · Working with Communities Kazakhstan 2014 ← Back to archive

Katie Mabbutt investigated the factors affecting people's intention to volunteer for conservation of the Ural saiga population in Kazakhstan. The study examined the motivations, attitudes, and practical considerations that can influence whether people are willing to give their time to conservation activities.

The research added evidence on how volunteer participation could be encouraged and supported in saiga conservation. Understanding these motivations can help conservation organisations design opportunities that are more attractive, realistic, and relevant to potential local volunteers.
