Women’s Needlework and Alternative Livelihoods - A. Nurumbetova
Aizada Nurumbetova trained women on the Ustyurt Plateau in needlework and craft skills as a potential alternative source of income. The project linked livelihood development with saiga conservation by exploring ways for local women to earn income that did not depend on activities harmful to wildlife.
The project provided participants with practical skills and helped establish the foundations for a conservation-linked embroidery initiative on the Ustyurt.
